38.000 Danish courier partners could unexpected receive vacation pay in the future; 12.5% of past and future earnings before tax with respect of rules regarding statutory limitations.

That’s indicated by a decision of the 18th of June 2024 referring similar litigation to The Eastern High Court. The case regards employment status of Wolt’s courier partners for the purposes of legislation regarding tax and VAT

If it happens to be the case that Courier Partners are employees in the eyes of the law, then it most likely follows that about 38.000 past and current partners are entitled to several labour law benefits for employed persons.

Such benefits may include workers compensation, vacation pay, ATP-contributions, G-days and sick pay.

Red and yellow unions are due to self-imposed restrictions related to strategy and capacity limited in availability to a very few lucky members with pending cases regarding e.g. vacation pay.

If legal aid for litigation is granted then the state will pay most of the costs associated with a law suit without considering the associated strategic interests of traditional unions.
